The single ticket for all urban transport will be introduced in Cherkasy

The deputies of Cherkasy Municipal Council have adopted the conception of the urban transport development. According to city mayor Serhii Odarych, the development of the electric transport is the concept priority. “We want to introduce the single ticket for all the urban transport, change the routes so that they do not repeat each other and reduce the number of transport that will carry the passengers,” Odarych explained. According to him, trolleybuses are not able to carry a lot of passengers entitled to free ride since the government funds them only for 20 to 25 percent. “That is why all the routes will have special trolleybuses that will serve all the groups entitled to this benefit without any limitations. Every trolleybus stop will have the timetable indicating the time when these trolleybuses will come so that the people could use them. Traffic interval will be an hour to an hour and a half. All the other transport will be paid,” the mayor assured. They will make special electronic cards for the people entitled to free ride. Thus when this benefit will be replaced by the pecuniary compensations it will be possible to transfer the money the government will allocate for the fare on the card and the people enjoying the benefit will be able to use it to pay for the public transport.
