The annual charity festival “Children Create a Fairy Tale,” sponsored by art designer Oksana Karavanska, was held at a Lviv hotel. It was a theatrical performance that unfolded amid charming scenery and had on its cast not just professional actors, but children and their parents as well. The event had a charitable purpose and raised 25,000 hryvnias in donations. The money will be transferred to Bukiv Orphanage for Children with Special Needs, located in Stary Sambir raion of Lviv oblast.

Karavanska said she realized that everyone was already engaged in charitable activities as much as they could, primarily for our army. “Still, we must remember, even now, people who always need our support, whatever the general situation,” she added. “The main purpose of this festival is to instill kindness in children’s souls. We should accustom our children to the fact that the world around them is highly diverse, that many children’s lives are different from theirs, and not all children are as happy and socially protected as they are. Our festival targets families, and I feel it is important that children come to it with the understanding that it is not just for entertainment, but rather an occasion for them and their parents to help other children, their peers.”

Children were free to choose roles for themselves, and their choices included princesses, pirates, dwarfs, batmen, a Snow White, a Snow Queen, and a Spider-Man... Meanwhile, the show’s director and actors of the Zankovetska National Drama Theater and the First Ukrainian Theater for Young Audiences brought these characters into an interactive fairy tale parade.
