Haidamaky will perform in Europe

The rock-folk band Haidamaky will go on a great tour starting on March 4, which will see them coming to Hungary, the Czech Republic, Austria, Germany, and Poland. It is expected that the musicians will give 15 concerts.

The band’s March 3 performance in Uzhhorod can be seen as the “rehearsal” before the European tour, as Haidamaky will head to Budapest from there as soon as March 4. Vienna, Brno, Pilsen, Munich, Berlin, and Hamburg will be next.

Incidentally, while in Hamburg, Haidamaky will perform on-board MS Stubnitz, a large ship which has dropped anchor for good at the Hamburg seaport and been transformed into a cult music club.

The tour will end on March 15 with a concert in the Polish city of Olsztyn.

The Day has learned from the musicians themselves that they have prepared a diverse program called “Kozak Rock,” which includes time-tested songs as well as brand-new compositions, which the band is currently working on and which continue to draw upon the Ukrainian melodic tradition. Haidamaky will also perform their audience’s favorites: songs from past year’s album UkrResist and the ballad “Summer Has Had a Dream of Fall” from the movie The Legend of Princess Olha. As the musicians like to emphasize, they will help the great cause of European integration of Ukraine by actions (concerts, album recording, video clip making) rather than words.
