International Summer Music Academy will be held in Kyiv

Kyiv will host the International Summer Music Academy from July 1 through 12. The event’s program will include master classes in piano, consisting of six 45-minute lessons, and in performing with orchestra, consisting of six 45-minute lessons, a rehearsal and a performance with orchestra. Incidentally, the latter master class will be supported by one of the best music teams in this country, the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, conducted by great Volodymyr Sirenko. The lessons will be held at the Glier Kyiv Institute of Music. Deadline for applications is June 20. Let us recall that the Horowitz International Memorial Competition for Young Pianists launched the Performing School in 1998, and it developed into the International Summer Music Academy in 2000. The program provides for comprehensive enhancement of its participants’ professional skills and offers courses that provide the basis for successful practical performing. Broad and diverse performing practice of the Academy’s students includes as a major part performing at the International Kyiv Summer Music Evenings Festival, which held concerts in Mariinsky Park before, but will now move to the Music Recording House.
