Chernivtsi will host the Ivan’s Masquerade Film Festival

The Mykolaichuk anniversary preparation organizing committee held a meeting recently. Thematic conferences, sessions, roundtables, and other events dedicated to the 75th birth anniversary of the legendary actor are scheduled to be held in June. The committee also plans to restore a number of legendary films associated with Mykolaichuk. The main events will take place in Kyiv, Chernivtsi, and the actor’s home village of Chortoryia, Kitsman raion, Chernivtsi oblast. They also intend to build a museum complex at the Mykolaichuk Farmstead Museum.

Reconstruction of the Mykolaichuk Film Art Center is ongoing in Chernivtsi, and the city will also erect a monument to him and host the Ivan’s Masquerade All-Ukrainian Film Festival.

Retrospective screenings of films starring Mykolaichuk will be held in Ukraine and abroad. The government will issue a commemorative coin, a postage stamp and an envelope marking the 75th birth anniversary of the Ukrainian actor.

By the way, the Mystetsky Arsenal National Art and Culture Museum Complex will host the “Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors. Exhibition” from March 23 to April 10. It will be a large-scale projectbased on Sergei Parajanov’s eponymous cult film, which starred Mykolaichuk as the protagonist (this was the film debut of the young actor).
