Industrial story in art

The exhibition is very close in spirit for Donetsk because the presented works are the reflection on the Ruhr industry. To create the series of art works Kiel searched through archieves and gathered photos from the times of the coal and metal industry boom in this region of Germany, which has had the fame of an industrial center. Using special technologies the artist managed to transfer the photos onto the rusty steel sheets which had been previously covered with photosensitive emulsion. The final fixing of the image was deliberately not fully done and because of this his art works are constantly changing their image. The official opening ceremony will take place on August 3 at the municipal art gallery “ArtDonbas” and the next day the photographer will hold a workshop where he will attempt to answer the question: “How history can be preserved in art?”
