Today the original canvases of the artist are exhibited in Kyiv National Museum of Russian Art. Vladyslav Shereshevsky timed the vernissage with his 50th anniversary and presented the 50 best of his recent works. His pictures are distinguished by a special charm and high level of execution. Only a really talented artist can subtly mock at reality. But if Vladyslav is not mocking, his works captivate with sincerity and love to the depicted images. The artist admits that while preparing the project “Everything costs 50,” he has looked through over 2,000 of his canvases. He had a wide choice, because over 27 years of active creative work he has created a lot.

In fact, Vladyslav is a very prolific artist. His works are frequently exhibited (he has held over 30 solo exhibit and participated in a hundred of art forums). To his pleasure, his works are sold well. But he grumbles superstitiously that the collectors take the best works from his studio. By the way, Vladyslav prudently publishes booklets and catalogues on a regular basis. Today Shereshevsky’s works are a part of many private collections in the US, Israel, Greece, Sweden, Italy, Poland, Germany, and Ukraine. His works also decorate the offices of the leading companies: Daimler AG, Ministry of Culture of Bavaria, Gradobank, Bank Aval, and many others.

“For the most part actual art today is only able to astonish. We have a generation of people who are not able to feel, who do not read, have migrated to the Internet, becoming merely consumers of information. I   am still touched by the quality of painting, besides in Ukraine we have a lot of good artists,” SHERESHEVSKY says. “I feel real pleasure when I visit their exhibits. My friend told me once, ‘You paint too expensively, you have a thick coat of paint,’ but I can’t smother my own voice. If they ask me, ‘Whose servant I am, art or painting?’ I will definitely prefer painting. My works are not funny, everywhere I achieve tragicomic sounding. My works seem funny to those who see the tip of the iceberg. This is the level of perception. My  best viewers see everything.”

Director of Kyiv National Museum of Russian Art Yurii Vakulenko thinks that Shereshevsky is among the top three leading Ukrainian artists. Dmytro Korsun, art critic and artist, adds that a person for Shereshevsky is not a spot of nature, but a home universe, modest selfless defender of tiny family hearth. Vladyslav conveys most warm and natural feeling. He always plays in art, and does this in a highly professional manner. He came to art to paint the mass tastes as brightly as possible.
