A memorial plaque honoring popular singer Nazarii Yaremchuk has been launched and sanctified at Chernivtsi Fedkovych National University. “We have decided to honor him with a plaque,” head of the student parliamentary group of the university’s geography department Yaroslav Chorny told us. “Students of years one to four chipped in with two hryvnias each, with 800 people in total coming in support of the project. The plaque has an unusual look, featuring not just Yaremchuk’s portrait, but also the treble clef and the logo of our student parliament.” Meanwhile, the university’s vice-rector for studies and research Professor Tamara Marusyk noted: “Symbolically, the students presented the geography department with this eccentric historical portrait of Yaremchuk. They did it all on their own, their joint work can be considered a special project, as its plan, organization and creative work, the latter done by Mykola Torous, all belonged to the students. Look at that wonderful smile on the face of the singer. His wife Daryna, daughter Marichka, sons Nazarii and Dmytro saw that smile often.”
