The National Assembly of the Disabled of Ukraine, the National Committee of Sports for the Disabled of Ukraine and Ukrainian Paralympians provided support to soldiers of the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) who had suffered injuries due to hostilities. For this purpose, they visited the Red-Star Main Military Medicine Clinical Center “Main Military Clinical Hospital” at 6 p.m. on August 15, the press service of the National Committee of Sports for the Disabled of Ukraine reported. “‘From sports victories to life victories’ is the motto of the Ukrainian Paralympians. This motto has encouraged many people with disabilities to live on, even those who are not professionally involved in sports, but are just undergoing rehabilitation through them,” the press service noted. “With this attitude, people with disabilities never give up, never let themselves down, but fight despite all hardships and obstacles for their lives and right to life as they go     victoriously through it. It is them who are ready to share their unbroken spirit and their experience of victories over themselves with strong-spirited soldiers of the ATO who have suffered severe physical and psychological injuries as a result of the war that has engulfed eastern regions of Ukraine.”

As the press service emphasized, the meeting, importantly, was desired by both parties, because the National Committee of Sports for the Disabled of Ukraine has been receiving a great deal of appeals recently from hospital psychologists, volunteers, relatives and family members of soldiers stating the need for them to obtain this kind of heart-to-heart contact with the Paralympians.
