On June 28, for the first time in Ukraine, the scene, which would be set up at the Market Square will host the concert of the “Eternity Puzzles” project. It is an international initiative that connects two geniuses and two treasuries of the world heritage – the first are unique wooden sculptures of Lviv’s own Michelangelo, Johann Georg Pinzel, and the second are the archives and manuscripts of the 16th-19th-centuries composers (Bach, Vivaldi, Mozart, Handel et al.), the so-called “Bach Archive.” The project is supported by Maryna Poroshenko, the President’s wife; Archbishop Emeritus Lubomyr Huzar of Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church; Bohdan Hawrylyshyn, president of the Foundation Vidrodzhenia; Yurii Serhieiev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine, Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the UN; Aaron Goldberg, renowned jazz pianist; Zinaida Likhachova, artist; Fedir Vozianov, fashion designer.
The aim of the event is to open the unknown Pinzel’s heritage to the world, which is a unique relic of world culture worthy of worship and attention as much as the Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci, and the Sistine Chapel by Michelangelo. The other aim is, of course, the restoration of the Pinzel Museum building in Lviv (located at the St. Clare’s Church on the Customs Square), and of the artist’s frescoes and sculptures. The poor state of the building has been the specialists’ concern for a long time.
The world premiere of the “Eternity Puzzles” was held in the hall of the United Nations in New York on October 16, 2014 with the participation of jazz pianists Aaron Goldberg and Misha Tsiganov.
According to the organizers, Lviv audience will hear exclusive jazz arrangements of Bach’s works and the Ukrainian music by Natalia Lebedieva, jazz pianist, performed by the “Two Violins,” a duet of 13-year-old violinists, and by the trio of Natalia Lebedieva, Kostiantyn Ionenko (contrabass), and Pavlo Halytsky (drums). 13-year-old violin virtuoso duet of Illia Bondarenko and Tetiana Zhmendak has been called the two Mozarts. It was them who expressed the idea of saving Pinzel’s heritage and present the Ukrainian sculptor to the world.
The concert will be accompanied by “Faces of Freedom. Maidan” – a video project of a world-renowned Ukrainian photographer Ihor Haidai, as well as by “Autumn is Such a Sweet Time” video by Zinaida Likhachova and by an exclusive recording of Johann Georg Pinzel’s sculptures.
Costumes for the participants of the project had been created by fashion-designer Fedir Vozianov.
