“Territory of the soul”

The exhibition of an interesting and original Bukovynian artist Anatolii Zhytariuk takes place in the Chernivtsi Art Museum. His new exhibition “Territory of the soul” drew wide response in the region.

The artist’s creative work is known not only in Bukovyna. Since 2000, Anatolii Zhytariuk participated in Ukrainian-Romanian open airs in the city of Sucevita, international exhibitions “Art Fair” (in Forli, Italy) and “High Castle” (Lviv, Ukraine), his two personal exhibitions took place in Lourdes (France) and Milan (Italy). Zhytariuk works are kept not only in native Bukovyna, but also in Odesa Museum of Western and Oriental Art, in Suceava Regional Museum (Romania), the Art Museum of Rzeszow (Poland) and also in numerous private collections.

The exhibition in the Chernivtsi Art Museum presents Anatolii Zhytariuk’s recent works. This is an introspection on the theme of love to the world that surrounds him, his childhood memories and adoration of his native land’s nature. The artist confessed that the idea of creating such an exhibition has emerged long ago, but only now he was able to realize it.

The “Territory of the soul” exposition is a result of the artist’s reflection on the color range that would fit the series’ theme, and also on the manner, genre, and techniques of the works’ performance. “The main purpose of my exhibition is not being picturesque but rather being philosophical,” claims Zhytariuk.

Indeed, the presented works have a deep philosophical view on human relationships with the world; the sensuality of “Territory of the soul” reveals the special features of the artist’s peculiar manner with distinct stylization and geometrization of forms.

None of the works in the exposition has participated either in collective exhibitions or in artist’s any other art projects.

Unfortunately, the visitors of Anatolii Zhytariuk’s personal exhibition will be able to see only a part of the presented series. The full exposition will be presented only in spring.
